This study was initiated with a view to improving soil fertility while reducing the quantities of cattle dung to be applied to the soil. To this end, different doses of composts derived from cattle dung composted for 28 days were applied as bottom dressing to a lettuce (Lactuca Sativa L.) crop in a Fisher block design. Data on collar diameter, number of leaves and plant biomass of lettuce were collected on plots amended with compost at doses of 0, 10, 20, 30 and 40 t.ha-1 and evaluated through the respective treatments T0, T10, T20, T30, T40. The data collected were subjected to an analysis of variance using SAS 9.4 software, where the Newman and Keuls test at the 5% threshold was used to compare means. The T20 treatment at a dose of 20 t.ha-1 obtained the highest values for agronomic parameters in lettuce. With a yield of 8802.88 kg.ha-1, the 20 t.ha-1 dose of cattle dung compost produced the highest lettuce biomass.
